i stay in Hotels alot with my work. Infact I spend more time in Hotels, than I do at home. The one thing I have noticed in both Hotels and Resteraunts in the UK is that the service is actualy quite bad.
I of course relate this with my experience of hotels and resteraunts in various cities in the USA. Why cant we have our service like theres?
I recently stayed at a hotel in the city of Atlanta in Georgia in the Untied States of America. What strikes me a great about that hotel and all those I have stayed in whilst this side of the pond, is not the facilities (the pool, the big bed, the free internet, the great food), but the actual service and friendliness you get, which is way above anything I have experienced in the UK.
The foillowing is a list of the things I have experienced here, whioch I have not in the UK.
1. Memory – These Guys and Girls remember you after only a few minutes conversation. They remember the drink you ordered on the first day, they remember what plans you said you had for the following day, and then ask you about them later.
2. Politeness – They always have a smile. Most places in the UK, the staff look misserable.
3. Table Service – In the UK, I have to leave where I am sitting, queue at the Bar aznd wwhen I get back to my table, my half finished food has been cleared and the table occupied by someone else! in the USA The service comes to you!
These are just three of the things that can be improved. I’m sure I can think of others in ttime as well. We can learn alot from the USA for our hospitality industry
